Ideal for sensitive skin types or those new to vitamin C antioxidant serum, Serum 10 utilises 10% pure vitamin C (l-ascorbic acid) and 0.2% ferulic acid to help neutralise damaging free radicals that contribute to atmospheric skin ageing – environmental damage and premature signs of ageing caused by free radicals from environmental exposure. In addition to providing the benefits of vitamin C, this antioxidant serum also helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Studies show that when formulated properly (as all SkinCeuticals antioxidants are), a 10% concentration of L-ascorbic acid is readily absorbed by the skin.

The compound structure of molecules in skin become unstable when a healthy atom loses an electron. Unstable atoms - called free radicals - are motivated by external stressors like UV rays and pollution. Without being addressed, free radicals can cause a breakdown in skin DNA, exacerbating ageing, skin sensitivity and breakouts.

An L-ascorbic acid serum applies antioxidants to skin, which provide electrons back to atoms, neutralising free radicals and providing stability to skin chemistry. Daily use of a Vitamin C antioxidant serum will visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles and restore clarity to skin.

In the morning after cleansing, apply 4-5 drops of this antioxidant serum to a dry face, neck, and chest before other skincare products. May also be used on backs of the hands. Complete your regimen with a sunscreen.

It is normal for vitamin C products to darken after opening due to air and light exposure. The formula will remain effective. Once opened, it is recommended to be used within 3 months of opening.

When used together, antioxidants and broad-spectrum sunscreens provide more comprehensive protection against visible ageing caused by environmental aggressors.

Fantastic serum

This serum totally surprised me. I nervously took a plunge to buy this as my skin previously reacted very badly to a vit C serum from another brand. So I started looking into something suitable for sensitive skin. Even then I was still nervous about trying any vit c due to reaction that took me 3 weeks to heal! This serum is a-ma-zing! My skin absolutely loved it from a first contact with the skin! I couldnt believe it. If you are new to vit c this is a brilliant introduction. Once I built up tolerance to a daily use(start slowly if you arent sure) my skin looked bright, glowing and even my hormonal breakouts started to vanish! I highly highly recommend it. My next step is going to be Phloretin as it has a lower concentration of ascorbic acid. Skinceutical is the best for Vitamin C.

I have used SO many products trying to make my skin look better. I have used the SkinCeuticals daily moisturizer for about a year now and it is really great for my sensitive skin. I started using this serum at the recommendation of my esthetician, and love it. I moisturize in the morning after cleansing and use the serum at night after cleansing. I love the way it makes my face look and feel. I have acne prone skin and this product does not bother my skin in the slightest.

Great daily product!

I had been searching everywhere to find a product that would inhibit that aging look on my skin. I am very conscious of the way products feel on my face and take note of any changes I may notice. Upon applying the first thing I noticed was that it was not oily and disappeared quickly into my skin. I noticed a difference in my skin in the first week. My skin looked smoother and brighter. I use it every other day now because it seemed to be a little strong for my fair skin. But I have been using it ever since. It just lasts twice as long.
